Burj Khalifa

Construction of the Burj Khalifa began in 2004, with the exterior completed 5 years later in 2009.  At over 828 metres (2,716.5 feet) and more than 160 stories, Burj Khalifa currently holds the record as the tallest building in the World.  Burj Khalifa was designed by Adrian Smith, then of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). With NORR Group Consultants International Limited chosen to supervise the architecture of the project.

The tower was constructed by Samsung C&T from South Korea, who also did work on the Petronas Twin Towers and Taipei 101.[88] Samsung C&T built the tower in a joint venture with Besix from Belgium and Arabtec from UAE.  The Interior Fit-out was done by DEPA with Design Studios (Singapore) installing the doors. Ramkor was involved with the door specification from an early stage and was able to draw on years of experience to come up with the most competitive door core solution that also complied with the most stringent performance requirements and certification to ASTM standards.
